Professionalization Programme

The bbk berlin's bildungswerk is a not-for-profit subsidiary of the berufsverband bildender künstler*innen berlin. It offers an extensive programme to help improve the professionalization of fine artists in Berlin. The professional field of fine art is constantly changing and expanding, so that specialist knowledge and cultural techniques need to be updated and constant further training is necessary.

Seminars & Workshops

Information events, seminars and workshops at the bbk berlin's bildungswerk form a system of educational units building upon and complementing each other. Professional knowledge is imparted to provide comprehensive consolidation of artistic work. All professional artists in Berlin can take advantage of the offers provided by the bildungswerk; membership of the bbk berlin e.V. is not required.

Lecturers and Instructors

Many instructors in the programme are artists or art mediators themselves, active in contemporary art discourse and production. They also have expertise in fields such as art history, the art market, marketing and media competence, and/or are experts in project management, communication and presentation, IT and new media.

Coaching

The coaching on offer aims to provide professional orientation and advice on the topic of artists' professionalization. This may involve detailed questions as well as fundamental stocktaking of one's artistic perspective. In this assessment, it is important to clarify individual goals and circumstances, strengths and deficits, in order to open up concrete options (to act) for each artist.

Lecturers are available for individual orientation sessions and in-depth study of individual problems. One, or in exceptional cases, two hours per person can be booked. Each interested party must justify his/her need. The specialist coaching will always take place at the respective instructor's premises or at the bbk berlin's bildungswerk.
